Roof Foam Coating
in Alexandria, Virginia
What is Roof Foam Coating?
The term spray foam refers to the application process. Roofing contractors spray liquid foam over the roof surface with a pressurized machine and hose. As the product leaves the application gun, the products are atomized and mixed in two tanks. Every tank has a different component.
The roof is covered with foam, which expands, then solidifies. Creating a seamless system, it eliminates the need for flashing around the perimeter
What is the Lifespan of Spray Foam Coating?
Spray foam roofs typically last for 20 years after installation. This is the standard warranty period, but the roof will likely last much longer. Generally, the warranty period is determined by the thickness of the foam and the coating, and applying more of one or both will generally extend it.
Roof Foam Coating Benefits
In addition to providing robust insulation and waterproofing, Spray Foam Coating roofing systems provide many other advantages to building owners:
- Water and air cannot penetrate because there are no joints
- Easily applied over unusual roof shapes
- Improves soundproofing
- Lower utility bills and more comfortable interior temperatures
- With proper maintenance, a foam roof will last for decades
Roof Substrates that Are Appropriate
Once the roofing foam has been installed to the desired thickness and is allowed to cure, it is then coated with an elastomeric material. A coating may be accompanied by gravel or greenery. In addition to being durable, the coating makes the roof systems easy to maintain and walk on.
Residential and commercial foam roofing insulation can be installed on a variety of roofing substrates, including
- Almost every type of roofing material
